When we let our passion SHINE, we end up filling the world around us — especially those we work with and those we strive to help — with the bounty of our light and spirit. What better place to shine than with thousands of like-minded colleagues and friends at Emergency Nursing 2024 in Las Vegas in less than a month.

As ED nurses, we are the shining light for patients and their families, often on their darkest days. We can cut through their darkness when it’s most needed. For us to shine consistently, though, we need to be at our best when patients may be at their worst. That’s where Emergency Nursing 2024 comes in.
Taking place Sept. 4-7 at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, the conference is the place to be to forge connections, stay on top of the latest innovations in emergency care and celebrate our achievements — fueling a dynamic experience that will renew your passion for emergency nursing and help you shine even brighter along the way.
Now, I know intellectually it’s important for us to SHINE for our patients and co-workers as well as for our family and friends. Sure, some days that’s hard to do. Here’s the thing: I believe because I want to shine — and I suspect you do, too — we can collectively ramp up the wattage to boost our SHINE together at the conference.
Those who attend Emergency Nursing 2024 will find support, food for thought, and maybe some “aha!” moments to carry back home.
The theme “Ignite” will play out over four days at the conference with sessions and social events designed to ignite the mind, body and spirit.
Always remember that to shine also means shining a light on the myriad issues emergency nurses face. Emergency Nursing 2024’s educational sessions will do just that. More than 100 high-quality educational sessions will feature knowledgeable experts sharing their insights and best practices to help us provide the best patient care possible. I plan to attend a variety of clinical, management and leadership educational sessions, including those that address workplace violence, boarding and the mental health crisis.
The hands-on learning activities will be just as compelling. Attendees will get the chance to brush up on clinical procedures at the SIM Wars competition, ultrasound and cadaver labs, and Sharpen Your Skills: Hands-on Learning Experience area.
You’ll also find me walking through the Experience Hall. About 200 industry vendors will be on hand to provide live demonstrations of their state-of-the-art technologies and services.
At the ePoster area, I’m looking forward to learning about the research some of our members have conducted to improve practices in EDs. I also plan to take a break at the Zen Den, which will have a massage station.
Emergency Nursing 2024 promises entertainment and fun, too. With the theme of “Shimmer and Shine,” the Welcome Party will be full of glitz and glam as partygoers don their most elegant sequined outfits. You don’t want to miss the “Ignite the Future Celebration,” which closes the conference. It will shine a light on the best and brightest in emergency nursing, ending Emergency 2024 on an uplifting, inspiring note.
I look forward to enjoying this lively, educational conference with you all. But remember, what happens in Vegas at Emergency Nursing 2024 doesn’t stay in Vegas. Take it home with you and shine!
